My husband and I adopted our sweet little girl from Fly with Me Animal Rescue in March of 2020. We have had the BEST experience with Fly with Me Animal Rescue. We recommend them to all of our family and friends because we had a top of the line experience with them and still do to this day.

We were so impressed with the adoption process even before we got Rosie. We filled out an application with all of our information and why we believed we would be good dog owners. We also had to include references. Fly with Me Animal Rescue contacted all of our references to see if we would be good dog owner's and also to get a sense of who we are as people. We had a Skype interview with one of the representatives and talked about our home life, what our dog's life would look like, and also did a tour over Skype through our home with the rep. Brett and I were so pleased that Fly with Me Animal Rescue does a very in depth application process. Being the big animal lovers we are, we were happy that they genuinely cared where all of the sweet rescue babies go and how they make sure they go to a loving home.

The day we got Rosie was an absolute dream and so much fun, we still talk about it to this day. All of the volunteers were excellent to work with and were beaming from ear to ear as all of the fur babies were picked up to go to their forever homes. We did some paperwork, received Rosie's vet bills and went off to start our new life in New Brunswick with our little girl.

The thing that touches us most about Fly with Me Animal Rescue is that we are NEVER alone. Whenever we have questions about Rosie, Fly with Me is ALWAYS there to help. The Founder is absolutely wonderful. She will pick up the phone and call me any time of the day if I need her to help or to answer a question. It is evident she is a wonderful person and genuinely cares where all of the dogs go. Anyone who loves dogs as much as she does, is a top notch person in our books. We also love how connected Fly with Me is with the rescue families. The Fly with Me Animal Rescue follows me on Instagram and absolutely loves to see pictures and updates of our baby.

We are also on a Friends of Fly with Me Animal Rescue Facebook page. This is a page of past and previous rescue owners. Everyone posts pictures and shares their experience and it's so fun to stay connected with all of the families. When we adopted Rosie, we were encouraged to join this page to stay connected with the other families, and I'm so glad we did.

In a couple years we plan to rescue another baby through Fly with Me Animal Rescue and we CANNOT wait to work with the Rescue team again. Rosie has been an absolute sweetheart and the best addition to our family. She is kind, gentle & has the sweetest personality I have ever witnessed in a dog. We are so grateful for her and grateful for Fly with Me Animal Rescue for blessing us with the perfect baby.

Our experience with Fly With Me Animal Rescue started summer of 2019 when we put in an application to adopt a dog. The dog we applied for found her forever home before our application was approved. Fly With Me went out of their way to contact us and help us find the perfect fit to start our family. We then became volunteers with the rescue to help spread as much happiness to other new adopters, as we had experienced when we picked up our little girl. Fast forward 6 months, we were asked to foster a dog that had not found his forever home. We instantly fell in love with him. We decided to apply to adopt him as well. Due to his previous living conditions Fly With Me offered to help with his medical bills to ensure he was in good health. Although with rescues you will never know their entire past, Fly With Me always went over and above to make sure we were as prepared as possible to accept these dogs into our home. We are beyond thankful to Fly With Me Animal Rescue for all that they do to give these dogs a second chance at the life they deserve.

From adopting to fostering to volunteering, we are proud to call Fly With Me our family. We are both forever grateful for the two rescues we have adopted as they have brought so much love into this home and we cannot thank them enough.

Thank you will never be enough for what you do!

We are so happy with our newest family member, Sadie. Fly With Me was the conduit to making it all happen. Sadie is living her best life with her sister Bella. Our home is a happy dog zone! Thank you Fly With Me Animal Rescue for your support in bringing Sadie into our lives. We could not be happier with Sadie and the adoption process!

Adopting Kash from Fly With Me Animal Rescue was definitely the right decision. He is my best buddy and a perfect fit for me! With some training and obedience classes he has become so well behaved. I take him everywhere – he is my little side kick. Thank you Fly With Me!

I would like to start off saying I had a lot of death in 8 years, the last two being my husband and then was Yoshi (a shitz-poo who was my only companion daily and the light in my day). Nineteen months ago, I had to make the hardest decision to euthanize him, and I swore no more heartache and no more animals either. After I heard about this great organization I still said no, and my daughter talked me into just filling out an application to see the dogs and how much they needed us. So, I did. A week later my Adoption Coordinator sent me a video of this little chocolate chihuahua jumping in the shelter cage as if to say get me out of here. Miss Molly came to me on February 7,2021. I had to email a couple times about questions I had, and they emailed me back with the information I wanted. When I got Miss Molly, she had a bit of a cold and came with antibiotics and the rescue made it a point to check on her. Making the decision to adopt Miss Molly l was anxious and excited. Miss Molly needed me as much as I needed her. We are very lucky to have one another and she’s so funny and adorable she makes me laugh. I believe if it wasn’t for Fly With Me, I wouldn’t of had another pet and that would be a loss. My experience with this organization was very positive and they do take the time to do what’s best for these dogs. Dogs enrich our lives and we enrich their lives. Win, Win!

My experience with Fly With Me started in the fall of 2019. I had moved to Halifax not long before and was looking for a volunteer outlet to help with dogs since I wasn’t quite in the place to have one of my own. I quickly met the founder and a few other core members of the FWM volunteer team and was immediately taken with their dedication and determination to help animals. I started volunteering as much as I could with them and I continued to see an enthusiasm to help not only animals, but families, find their right fits as well. After many months of watching families welcome in wonderful additions, my partner and I were finally ready to bring in a new family member of our own. In August 2020 we brought Rudy into our lives. I was worried about being a first time rescue mom and worried about not knowing all of his history but the transparency from FWM throughout the process was great and I felt very supported. I’ve seen that rescue can be challenging, but I have also seen the endless support that FWM willingly gives to those who need it. My experience has been overall great, and we are endlessly thankful for our boy Rudy. Can’t wait to add another FWM pup to the brood eventually!

From day one, my experience with Fly With Me has been a positive one and still is to this day. Before I was approved for my boy Jett, there was an extensive adoption form to fill out, and a home visit to ensure that Jett would be safe and secure. I knew and received as much/all information that I possibly could from the organization, any questions or concerns I had were met to my satisfaction. The only problem I had, and knew about, was his recall and that has been corrected. It was stated in the adoption contract that if I was to surrender him, he was to go back to Fly With Me. I have had Jett now for a year and three months and wouldn’t give him up for anything. Jett is a loveable, friendly, affectionate little guy. He is one of the best things that has happened in our lives. He loves people and other dogs. I have seven grandchildren and he loves each and every one of them. We walk every morning at Shubie Park and visit other parks and trails on Sundays and everyone who meets Jett likes/loves him.

I highly recommend Fly With Me and do to anyone who asks where Jett came from. Fly With Me has had so many success stories and when I am ready for another dog it will be from Fly With Me again.

Again, thank you Fly With Me.

Charlene and Jett

My first experience with Fly With Me was as a volunteer helping with when the new dogs arrived here in Halifax. It was so rewarding that I went back again and again! What a fantastic feeling to be a part of such an amazing group of people so focused on saving these beautiful animals! As a result of working with this awesome and caring group I soon found myself adopting. I was lucky enough to be chosen to have Rocky a 3-legged pup who recently had his back leg amputated. If not for the fundraising efforts of Fly With Me to help cover his surgery ... I dare say rocky would not be in my life!

It’s now been 10 months since we became adventure partners! Rocky and I are living our best dog and Dad life! I thank Fly With Me every time I look in his big loving eyes!

We heard about Fly With Me through my brother and his partner who had an amazing experience adopting their dog. When my partner and I were thinking about adopting, I thought I would browse their website, not expecting to fall in love, we came across Atlas’s picture! A sweet canaan dog from Jerusalem. We emailed regarding our interest and heard back within the next few days with a date for a video chat interview. Within a few days we heard back that we were officially approved to adopted Atlas. Atlas then had her flight booked within two months and then COVID hit and rocked our world. Her flight was canceled with no sight of a new one in the future. Fly With Me provided weekly updates of how she was doing along with pictures and videos. Fly with me also reached out to other animal rescue organizations, such as second chance international, and were able to start a fundraiser for Atlas. The fundraiser worked and we were able to fly Atlas home, halfway around the world during a pandemic, which was incredible! Fly With Me was so supportive through our ups and downs and the tight knit fly with me group continues to provide advice and support to everyone. Thank you Fly With Me!

As it did for many people, the pandemic provided an opportunity to welcome a pet back into my life. As a first-time dog parent though, I had lots of questions. The team at Fly With Me openly shared information and spent time getting to know me and my lifestyle. Having a designated Adoption Coordinator helped set me up for success so that when Sandy became available, I felt confident and had everything in place - from vet appointments and training schedules to food and home accessories. Their support both before and after the adoption process has been fantastic! I’m so grateful for the work they did in finding the best match for me — I couldn’t have done this without them! We love being part of the Fly With Me family and connecting with other rescue pups and parents on their journeys. Thanks to everyone at Fly With Me for making this possible!

My experience with Fly With Me has been amazing right from the start. After expressing interest in adoption, I was connected to our amazing adoption coordinator who explained the rescue and what to expect in depth before moving on to the approval process. The approval process consisted of an interview and home visit (over video) that made me feel confident that this rescue truly has the dog’s best interests at heart. Once approved to adopt our girl, Luna, they were there to answer any and all questions I had. They also provided me with a helpful checklist of what I should have to prepare for my girl and material on what to typically expect within the first three months such as the decompression period. After picking up our girl they checked in within the next day to see how everything was going with her. They also have an amazing online group for all adoptees/fosters to share their experiences and to stay connected together- this has been an incredible asset. I recommend Fly With Me to anyone I know looking to adopt a dog.

Once I was paired with Sam, my very first foster, I received pictures and all his information; what he knew as well as what he still needed to learn and work on. I was also emailed a parental guide (what to do, not to do, the decompression process, etc.) which was super useful. They really made sure I had everything I needed to be successful with Sam (crate, food, toys, training if needed).

It wasn’t always easy with Sam. There were times where I felt overwhelmed but the support I received from the FWM team was incredible. They regularly checked in on us and were always quick to answer questions. The team made me feel comfortable and took my opinion in consideration when meeting potential adopters. It was obvious that Sam going to a suitable home was their priority.

I cannot say enough about the many positive experiences I have had through Fly With Me Animal Rescue. As a volunteer for the last 18 months, I have had the honour in partaking in rescues, fostering, and the adoption side of this organization. I have been incredibly lucky in the past year to have had the time to foster more than one wonderful dog, and through that experience ended up adopting my own puppy, who is now 6 months old. He is such a major part of my life and brings me so much happiness. I cannot even imagine that without Fly With Me he would not have been apart of my family. The dedication that I see from the many volunteers that believe in this charity, goes above and beyond. Seeing a family adopt a dog into their forever home, and the smile on their faces is absolutely priceless.

Thank you Fly With Me for all that you do, for the love and care that you pour into something that means so much, everyday… you are amazing!

I have been a foster home for 2 dogs through Fly With Me, December 2020 and my current foster from February 2021. I have had great experiences so far, and have felt supported through both of these little adventures. The dogs that I have been given to help rehabilitate have been opposites on the spectrum; my first being timid and shy, my second is a little ball of energy. Their communication with me has been open, honest and prompt. If I need anything or have any questions about the process of adoption/advice for helping to prepare the pups for their adoption homes I always get a response to my emails within the hour of sending them. If I need to replace a toy, get more treats or even trialing harness/muzzle/halti, my contact with the rescue always makes herself available to me. When a family is interested in the pups, we have a meet and greet that doesn’t feel rushed, where there are no wrong questions and I feel comfortable being able to give an accurate account of my experience with the dogs. I will continue to be a foster home for years to come. I love what they do. I love what I am doing with them. Together, we are making the world a better place, one pup at a time.

On a Friday night in late September, I was scrolling through Instagram and came across a website called Fly With Me. One click and the journey began. I saw a dog that was coming in September rescue and immediately filled out an adoption application. I had to give two references and was told I’d be assigned an adoption coordinator. Within days I was contacted by my Coordinator who did an interview with me and a virtual tour of my home and yard. My references were contacted, and I was approved for adoption. The pup I was looking at was already spoken for, but my adoption coordinator said that more dogs were available for October and that I could wait for one that suited me -that I didn’t have to take the first one I saw. I was looking for a small male dog! In the October posting I saw and fell in love with my Casey. My application was approved for his adoption. I signed the appropriate paperwork and received information on what to expect and what Casey’s needs may be in his first 6 months! On October 25, 2020 Casey arrived! The work this group does to rescue dogs who through no fault of their own are going to be killed is amazing. I look at my little guy and am so thankful they brought him into my life and saved him. Everyone loves Casey! This organization offers support to new pet owners in a group for all adopters. If you are looking for a dog, I highly recommend Fly With Me!

We always knew that we wanted to adopt a rescue dog rather than going through a breeder as there are so many dogs that need help and homes. Upon reaching out to Fly with Me, an adoption coordinator sent us photos of dogs that were in need of forever homes. After a phone interview, video interview, and reference checks, we were approved for adoption. We knew adopting would have challenges and Fly with Me really set us and Dexter up for success. They provided a cat test video and all the information they had available. The adoption fee covers vet costs (rabies shot, heart worm check, neuter) and transport, so we set ourselves up with an account for unexpected vet visits that could be unknown to Fly With Me. The handoff went very smoothly considering how many dogs they have to match with their adopters. With someone giving us the information and all the advice possible we listened and took everything that was said seriously. During his decompression phase, Fly with Me was there with suggestions and support throughout. This is a fantastic charity solely run by volunteers who are dog lovers. We will 100% adopt through Fly with me again.

Our first fostering experience has been amazing. I have a 13yr old daughter and a 16yr old small dog and we were looking for something to focus on to enrich our lives and that of a dog who needed a second chance. I contacted Fly With Me and completed an application. We had a facetime call with a representative, did a house walkthrough and were sent lots of information to prepare us. We received a picture of a Jack Russell and advised where we would pick him up. We were given the food, leash & collar, a crate, a toy and the tiniest muzzle in the world for when he goes out of the house. Enter Kevin!

Kevin was a timid 12lb Jack Russell, shy with people but found comfort with our dog. We joined the Facebook support page for fosters and adopters. The Fly With Me rep was available to review video of a worsening cold and advised. They coordinated vet arrangements for neutering, and after he was adopted, they kept us up to date with transportation arrangements to his forever home in PEI. We can see updates on Kevin which makes our hearts burst with love. Thank you Fly With Me, you have made our lives richer. We hope to foster again!

I adopted Grape from Fly With Me in October 2019; she is my first dog, so I made sure I was as best prepared as I could be for her arrival. Fly With Me coordinators kept in constant contact with me and helped me through the process. In my interview process, they asked extensive questions about what I was looking for in a dog. This really helped put me at ease and answered any questions I had about the adoption process. Once I met Grape, I knew she was the perfect match for me! She is calm, gentle, and sweet (anyone who meets her falls in love with her instantly). Any issues I had, they were quick to respond and help me through it. I worked with a trainer early on to ensure I was setting us both up for success. Grape and I are so thankful for our experience with Fly With Me! She had lived in a shelter for so long; I am so grateful to be her first and forever home.

On May10th, 2020 we welcomed our Fly With Me rescue Opal into our home, and can honestly say it was love at first sight for our entire family - especially our senior dog Balin, who became a big brother for the first time! After submitting our application and a lengthy online FaceTime interview with our adoption coordinator, outlining the process and ensuring that we clearly understood the commitment we were undertaking, not to mention countless emails, a match was made, and we could not be happier. Opal arrived exhausted and timid but ready to be loved. Every day we saw more of the dog she was destined to become with our guidance, love and patience. Every single time we look into her adoring eyes we shudder to think that, if not for Fly With Me, our sweet girl would be just another statistic of a kill shelter! Thank you for the wonderful work you do!

Sincerely

From the moment we saw Daisy’s sweet face on Fly With Me Animal Rescue’s Instagram page, we were in love. Daisy was the first pet we adopted through a rescue, and we were impressed with the thoroughness of the application and review process. We could tell how much the team cared for all the rescues and they were determined to find the best possible home for each dog. Fly With Me provided us with all the background information they had on Daisy, and they gave us the opportunity to connect with the foster home she had been living at for information about her behaviour, diet, and videos. After we picked her up (one of the most exciting days we can remember!), Fly With Me checked in to see how things were going, and we joined their Facebook page where we can interact with the agency and other adoptive families. We hit the jackpot with Daisy! Our adorable little girl is well-behaved, incredibly sweet and happy. Her tail is always wagging, and she has brought an enormous joy into our life. We’re so glad we decided to work with Fly With Me and are grateful for the service they provide.

We are so grateful to Fly With Me Animal Rescue for the tremendous work they do. Without them, we would not have found our boy, Gio. They were extremely professional to deal with every step of the way and took steps to ensure we were all the right fit for each other. Their commitment, care and dedication to the pups is amazing!

Fly with me rescue is an amazing organization that has blessed us with our beloved Gunner. In December 2019 he was rescued and became a part of our family. We are very grateful for this opportunity to be able to rescue Gunner, that would have otherwise been euthanized.

Gunner rescued us more like... and our family would not be the same without our little energetic pitbull mix that is the biggest sook on earth. Pitbulls have a bad rep, and most of the time are totally misunderstood. We have a 1 year old daughter, and he proves all that to be wrong. Loving, nurturing, and loyal would be just three of many ways to describe our Gunner.

Keep doing what you're doing Fly With Me! Their big hearts, hard work and determination has really paid off. Otherwise, all of the dogs they have saved would not have had that second chance at life, which is what they deserve!

First, he stole our hearts, then he stole our bed, true story!

Love Luke & Emily

My name is Mambacita – Mamba for short. I used to be called Bailee. My human says we all have marks of greatness and that mine is the “V” on the top of my head. Sadly, not everyone saw my mark. When I was a tiny puppy, I was thrown out of a car window, like a piece of trash. I was found and given much needed medical attention and love, but there were so many dogs needing help. Although I had a wonderful foster family, I needed a forever home. I am a very intelligent and inquisitive dog, and I listen and notice everything that goes on around me. One day I heard that a rescue agency named Fly With Me Animal Rescue wanted to take me to Nova Scotia. Fly With Me made sure that the humans who were going to adopt me would love me as a cherished family member. I travelled with other puppies from Alabama to Maine, and although we were nervous, the people of Fly With Me gave us care and love the whole time. I now live in Pictou, Nova Scotia and my human shares lots of pictures of me with Fly With Me, because they really care about how I am doing. I know they love me and want me to do well. And that mark of greatness that I have? My human says it is bigger and brighter than ever, and everyone can see it!!

We adopted our rescue Dexter, a roughly 1 year old Bully Breed mix, in October 2019. We are grateful we chose Fly With Me Animal Rescue.

We were very impressed with how thorough the application process was, personal and professional references needed, a house walk through via video etc. Once approved we were provided a cat test video and confirmation that he was good with people and other dogs, he was neutered, and up to date on shots. I was informed he was missing fur on his back from fleas which had been treated and was provided any other information that was known at the time as well as advised about dog decompression.

After arrival we felt very supported and the rescue was there for us to answer any questions we had and offer advice on anything from food, recommendations on good trainers, vets and so on. They invited us to a private Facebook group for adopters that now has over 800 members. It is strong, supportive and caring community which the organizers and volunteers are very involved in daily.

We would highly recommend Fly With Me and will adopt from them again!

When I first heard about FWM I was a little hesitant to adopt a dog I knew nothing about nor the issues or troubles that might have come with it. After working with my Adoption Coordinator through the whole process we went through about 10 different dogs until she was confident we found the right fit for myself and the pooch. They worked with me extensively through the whole process and ensured I knew what to expect, and that this was a longevity fit and even sent a training regime and advice! I must say they nailed it! Zayley has been my best bud and the absolute perfect one for me, we do everything together and could never imagine life without her. She is happy and healthy, and this is her right fit also. I would recommend Fly With Me to anyone looking for that best friend! GREAT ORGANIZATION!

We got Benz (formerly Bentz) in September 2019 and picked him up in Halifax N.S. Even though he was second choice, I think it was for a reason. He is the perfect dog for us. Being in the shelter in Jerusalem for 5 years, god knows why so long, he arrived at our house. Fly With Me Animal Rescue had done excellent work prior with making sure we were the right fit for him. We were excited as soon as we were approved, and a month after we had done all the paperwork, we finally could pick him up and fell so much in love with him. Luckily, we had no big issues with him, and we met with other dogs from Israel in Halifax for a meet and greet last year before the lock down. It is such a great organization with so many volunteers that help get to dogs to their forever home. Thank you Fly with Me Animal Rescue!

After the death of our dog in 2019, rescue was a massive step for us. Taking on a puppy just wasn’t an option anymore, seeing how many dogs are abandoned and need homes.

After searching local rescue groups, I saw that many of my New Brunswick friends knew Fly With Me, so among few others, we contacted them. They were the only rescue that were very consistent in replying, never hid the complex process of adoption, and were very realistic in explaining that adoption isn’t all pink, rosy happily ever after. Like all things in life-there was no guarantee how a living, breathing, and in most cases deeply let down creatures, will take to new life. It helped us to understand the realities of the process.

We really appreciated that Fly With Me seeing our hesitation did direct us to "meet and greet foster dogs" rather than "adopt direct". That was the smartest route for us as we were unsure how to choose the right dog for our situation. They also guided us towards something we would never dream to look at, but in the end was 100% match for us-Luther.

Just adopting Luther wasn’t the end. Six months down the line we are still in a regular contact with our adoption coordinator and are part of the adopter support group. Unlike in most cases where the relationship ends after pick-up, Fly With Me are there to stay to support you with advice, kind words, and information for as long as you need it. This shows that it is not just a rescue group, but a rescue group with a really big heart.

We have all seen those disturbing videos and commercials – You know the ones with the abused and abandoned dogs attached to a short chain, open sores, eyes pleading for relief. What makes these images so truly disturbing is the fact that they are true – dogs, the beautiful animals that love unconditionally, are abused and neglected. Our response can be to turn away; cast our gaze and attention to something much less troubling……or we could choose to participate with Fly With Me Animal Rescue. This is an agency that works tirelessly to improve the lives of abused and neglected dogs. They have worldwide networks identifying dogs in need of new homes. Their approach is one based on respect – for the animals and the would be adopters. They begin by vetting anyone wishing to adopt, to make sure that an informed commitment can be made to the dog, and that the environment is one in which the dog can thrive. Once this has been completed, they efficiently process the adoption and communicate the logistics of travel and union of the dog with a new home. Throughout this process the dogs in their care are given love and respect, something that is expected from every potential adopter. Once the adoption is completed, they continue to offer support and resources with the ever expanding “Fly With Me Community”. Thank you Fly With Me!

I can never say enough good things about Fly With Me. I applied to adopt Sky back in October 2019, she was coming from a high-kill shelter in Alabama and would arrive early December. The on-going communication that Fly With Me provides is something that really stands out to me. As a first time adopter, I wasn’t sure what to expect but the team made the process incredibly comfortable and I knew from the start that they prioritize the well-being of the dogs they rescue. They shared what information and photos they had of Sky and put me in touch with the ladies who were fostering her in Alabama. I was able to speak with them to gain further information about Sky and learn more about her behaviour before meeting her. To this day, I remain in close contact with that foster family, the team at Fly With Me, and others who have adopted via Fly With Me all thanks to their amazing support group on Facebook where we can share our experiences, ask questions and learn from one another. I am very grateful for my experience with Fly with Me and having been matched with my sweet girl, Sky!

I owe a huge thank you to everyone at Fly With Me for bringing Lucy and I together. Everyone who I was in contact with throughout the whole process - from the adoption coordinator to the foster family were amazing and supportive. They took the time to understand what kind of dog I was looking for and helped me match to a dog that would complement me and my lifestyle. They offered many tips and tricks in order to better help transition Lucy into her new home and were available to answer any questions or concerns I might have had. The whole experience was easy and transparent, and I would recommend it to anyone. Lucy has quickly become part of the family and I could not be happier. I cannot wait to spend many more years giving copious amounts of belly rubs to Lucy!

My experience with Fly With Me Animal Rescue began last March 2020, when we all started to realize we were about to be spending a lot more of our time at home. I had seen some Instagram posts that they were looking for foster homes, so our family decided to apply.

We have a senior local rescue dog that was 11 and four cats. I wanted to make sure they would adapt, however brief a foster ended up staying. We had video walk through of our home with our Adoption Coordinator and she explained all the characteristics that a dog coming from a shelter might present and we accepted that. There was a beautiful male lab mix that was apparently good with other dogs but not cat tested. I am a lifelong pet owner and have managed many cat/dog combinations so and I knew it would probably be a matter of time and patience and everyone would get along.

We were told there would be a decompression period that the dogs would go through and their energy and personality might change dramatically during that period. From the beginning Bruno was very friendly and loving. He got along well with my senior dog. He sniffed three of the four cats and got no reaction and eventually lost interest in the fourth. His paperwork stated he was an owner surrender, but we could tell he had been cared for in his previous home. By the end of the second day we were in love with him and it was the best decision our family could make! We loved being “foster failures”!

We officially became foster fails in March 2020. We always wanted to adopt but were hesitant because of the small French Bull Dog (Wally) that already ruled our home. The foster program with Fly With Me was the ideal solution. After submitting an application, and outlining our needs in the interview, our coordinator messaged us that she had found a good match – A 4 year old (ish?) Amstaff dubbed ‘Jedi’, with big puppy dog eyes, who enjoyed the company of other dogs.

When I think about the day we picked up ‘Jedi’, now known as Bruce, I have to admit I was nervous. This strange, skinny, timid dog hopped in our car and we were off. It was obvious life had not always been kind to Bruce, and we knew building trust and his confidence (in himself, and us) would be a slow process. Initially we were surprised by how much he slept, and so deeply! Like many rescue dogs I think he had been running off adrenaline for so long, and finally realized he was safe enough to truly rest. As anyone can imagine there are challenges to overcome when turning a rescue into a family member, but it is nothing compared to the rewards. We joke that we didn’t make the decision to adopt Bruce, Wally did, but we’re just kidding ourselves – The day he walked through our door he was home.

Fostering through Fly With Me has allowed me to have a dog in my life at a time where I'm not yet ready to make the full commitment because of a combo of finances, time commitment, and apartment living. But working from home during the pandemic made me realize it was an option for me! It's been a dream come true to be able to help these dogs during their transition from shelter to permanent furever homes! Over the past few months I've had Spirit for 1 week, Kevin for 2 weeks, and now Bella for 2 days so far! Their personalities have all been so different—Spirit was silly and loving, Kevin was a cuddle bug, and Bella is playful but lazy—but each is perfect in their own way. Despite a few messes on the floor, lots of walks outside in the cold of winter, and the inevitable tears when the dogs go to their furever homes, I have had a great experience with Fly With Me and can't wait to keep fostering for them and one day down the road adopt permanently.

Our Floyd is amazing. It’s been almost 6 months and we just love him. Fly With Me is amazing. What they do is truly so selfless and so rewarding. I have never had my own dog, Floyd is my first, and I couldn’t be more in love. When I was looking for a dog I had no idea what or where to look. I did some google searching and found them. I completed an application for our boy and things moved quickly. We were contacted by them and set up an interview. We did a Skype call and showed them our home and yard. Shortly after that we got the news that Floyd would be ours. We can’t thank them enough for giving us Floyd and Floyd can’t thank them enough for a great life. Thank you Fly With Me!

My husband and I adopted are sweet boy Moose from Fly With Me in January 2020. We wanted to adopt a rescue pup for a while and after applying to multiple shelters and rescues and hearing nothing back we got discouraged, leading us to go to a breeder and adopt a puppy named Piper. After a few months with Piper, we came across Moose on the Fly With Me Animal Rescue Instagram page and thought he would make the perfect pal for our new puppy. We applied not expecting to hear back, but to our surprise Fly With Me was in contact with us in a few days. We were pleased to see how in depth the application process to adopt the dogs was, including a Skype interview. Not long after we brought sweet Moose home and could not be happier. He is a 60lb lap dog, constantly seeking cuddles and attention. Piper and Moose are the best of friends, and I could not imagine him in a house without another dog as he gains most of his confidence from her. My husband and I also had a baby in late 2020 and could not believe how well Moose took to the baby. He is just the perfect family dog, and we could not be happier. Thank you Fly With Me Animal Rescue!
